FAQs
What paints do you use?
I use ‘professional grade’ paint for the majority of my work or ‘excellent’ quality paints otherwise. Some of my favourite brands are, Liquitex, Winsor & Newton, Golden and Daler Rowney.
I often use acrylic paints but sometimes use oils or watercolours. It really depends on what type of painting I’m creating and the effects I want. My advice is to buy some paints, experiment and most importantly… have fun!
What is the difference between a print, an original and a commission?
• A print is a high quality reproduction of an original artwork and printed onto fine art paper or canvas.
• An Original painting is a one off piece which is hand painted by the artist. Original paintings are full of texture of the paint used.
• A commission painting is where the client can choose a size, style and colour scheme and have a bespoke painting made to suit their preferences and home decor. See more about commissioning a painting here (link)
Do you ever have sales on?
I do sometimes yes. They are rare because my prices reflect the time and care that I put into every product. But I appreciate that we all like a good sale so I I try not to disappoint.
What is your delivery lead time for prints and originals?
1-2 weeks
Do you ship Worldwide?
Yes I ship worldwide. I have collectors all over the world with various pieces of my artwork. So far I’ve shipped to 23 countries.
What are the options for shipping a painting worldwide?
Option 1 is to ‘unstaple the canvas and roll in a tube’ to ship. This a lower cost way to shipping. You can see a video on my YouTube channel here.
However, this does mean you have to take it to a local framers at your own expense, to have it re-stretched on wooden stretcher bars and ready to hang as I do not ship the wooden stretcher bars with it as it reduces the shipping costs for this option.
Option 2: is to ship the paintings ‘as a whole painting, as seen’ and ready to hang upon arrival. However this is the more costly option I’m afraid. The price of this varies depending on the size painting being sent, the value and your location.
What are customs charges and taxes for my country?
Shipments may be subject to customs taxes and duties. As the recipient it is your responsibility to pay any charges that arise as a result of any customs taxes and duties. They do vary country to country so I cannot give a full overview of what they might be here.
What if I am not in when the painting is due to be delivered?
For tracked parcels, you will be informed of your tracking number and estimated date of delivery. If you unfortunately are not at home to receive it, the courier company will leave you a card and it will be your responsibility to contact them to rearrange delivery for a convenient day.
Please note: Once it is passed to the courier service, any delays with their service is out of our control.
Do you accept returns/exchanges?
You can find more information on returns and exchanges on this page.
What is your waiting time for commissioned paintings?
Currently, 5 months
Can I hang my painting in a bathroom?
It is not advisable to hang any artwork in hot, humid environments or equally, in bright sunlight.
